A Custom Unlock is needed before your DJI drone can take off in Restricted Zones, which includes controlled airspace. Getting a Custom Unlock requires approval that is typically granted outside of the authority of DJI. In controlled airspace, this will be the appropriate authorization granted through the LAANC system.
